Filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is probably the single most important thing you can do to get money for college! Most students receive some type of financial aid, so you should fill out a FAFSA® application, even if you don't think you qualify.
Go to the FAFSA Website and take the time to fill out your FAFSA® form to determine your financial aid eligibility!
Here are some things you will need as you go through the application process:
Create an account (FSA ID)
Fill out your own demographics
List the schools you want your FAFSA info sent to
Fill out parent demographics (if applicable)
Supply you financial information
Sign and submit your form
You should fill out the FAFSA form as soon as possible on or after October 1. Each state and school sets its own deadline, and some are very early! Many types of student aid are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Apply too late, and you'll have fewer aid options.
