The concept of these shoe designs revolves around the mythological battle between Garuda and Naga, symbolizing the eternal struggle between good and evil, as well as the balance of opposing forces. The left shoe represents Naga, a serpent-like creature associated with water, prosperity, and mysticism. Its design features flowing water motifs and deep shades of blue, green, and turquoise to emphasize its connection to water, while gold accents symbolize divinity and wealth. The toe cap showcases a Balinese mask of Naga, blending traditional Indonesian culture into the design. On the other hand, the right shoe represents Garuda, a solar deity embodying energy, supremacy, and the divine. Vibrant colors such as gold, red, and blue dominate the design, highlighting Garuda’s royal and fiery nature. The imagery of Garuda surrounded by Naga reinforces the conflict between these forces, while the toe cap features a Balinese mask of Garuda, further tying the design to Indonesia’s cultural heritage. Together, the shoes reflect the balance and interplay of opposing energies within mythological and cultural narratives.
After an epic thousand-year battle between Garuda, the divine bird king, and Naga, the serpentine force of chaos, Garuda’s physical form perished, but his spirit and divine power did not fade. Instead, this incredible power unexpectedly passed to a mortal girl, Haruna, who was born during an eclipse in a small village blessed by the sun. Haruna now carries the legacy of Garuda, including his strength, flight, and connection to the elements of wind and solar energy. Thrust into a world teetering on the edge of chaos, Haruna must navigate the burdens of her newfound strength while battling the remnants of the Naga’s forces, who seek to corrupt and dominate the world. Along the way, she learns that courage and kindness—not sheer strength—are the truest measures of heroism.
The pop-up book combines rich storytelling with dynamic visuals to tell the tale of Haruna, a young girl who inherits the powers of Garuda, the mythical bird from Indonesia mythology. Through interactive 3D elements, readers will follow Haruna’s transformation from an ordinary girl into a brave protector, learning the importance of responsibility, self-belief, and harmony with nature.

This folly is inspired by the wings of an eagle and the sun, both representing strength and vitality. By integrating the stilt house design, the structure is elevated above the ground, providing both functional benefits—such as better ventilation, flood protection, and sustainability—and symbolic meaning, representing the Garuda’s ability to rise above challenges. The circular layout ensures harmony, with interconnected spaces guiding users through a journey of purpose and reflection.
