SIDAI SERAMBI: Rehumanizing Business Spaces through Personalisation in Urban Context
Kampung Pandan SME Startup Hub & Dobi
Kampung Pandan, an urban village located adjacent to the bustling Kuala Lumpur City Center, has long served as a residential area for city workers. Beyond providing accomodation, the village offers a slower-paced atmosphere, an escape from the intensity of urban life. However, rapid urban development has increasingly overshadowed Kampung Pandan, leading to loss of genius loci hence the kampung spirit gradually fades. To revitalize this spirit, the village's traditional business culture has to be preserved. Historically, Kampung Pandan housed a local laundry shop that embodied human touch with human-centered values through its user-friendly and community-oriented services. By reintroducing this humanistic approach that prioritize social connection and community well-being over commercial profit, the kampung spirit of Kampung Pandan can be revived.
