TRADITIONAL CRAFT CENTRE

SBEA 2138  |   < YEAR 2 DESIGN 3 >

This project aims to create a culturally responsive building in Taiping, reflecting its diverse Malay, Chinese, Indian, and colonial heritage. The chosen typology—community center, crafts center, kopitiam, mini gallery, or children’s hub—will serve as a vibrant community space. Using traditional materials like timber and incorporating local design elements, the building will celebrate Taiping’s rich history while meeting the functional needs of its residents, fostering a deeper connection to the town’s cultural identity.
