“Fostering an inclusive urban healthcare environment that empowers PWD within employment-related injury and the ageing population"
In Kuala Lumpur's dynamic healthcare landscape, the areas around Jalan Raja Chulan and Jalan Bukit Bintang face a scarcity of rehabilitation facilities. This deficiency is exacerbated by the rising incidence of work-related injuries leading to disabilities. Furthermore, the growing number of older people, often experiencing a gradual decline in functional capacity, intensifies the need for accessible healthcare services. This study proposes applying therapeutic environment and universal design principles to create inclusive and adaptable spaces that promote well-being for all individuals. This initiative contributes to developing an inclusive urban healthcare environment in Kuala Lumpur, empowering persons with disabilities, particularly those affected by work-related injuries, and supporting the needs of an ageing population.
