Fullfilling the needs of elderly is esssential in the development of all new housing environment. The increasing population of elderly demands for more elderly-friendly housing that also promotes a better living. The proposed design emphasis on the quality of life of elderly on their post retirement living by defining an inclusive programs. The idea is to design an active ageing community housing adopting vertical farming that promotes social inclusion, active ageing and sustainable living. Vertical farming provide variety of social, cognitive and physical benefits for elderly which can help with the goal of active ageing by promoting physical and mental well-being leading to meaningful and engaged lives. A successful aging process requires the maintenance of physical and mental functioning and involvement in social and relationship activities.
