Thesis Topic: Designing a Future-Ready Financial Ecosystem: A Gallery and Learning Centre for Traders : Bridging Financial Literacy
The rapid evolution of the financial sector, particularly through the rise of digital currencies, ESG (environmental, social, and governance) requirements, and the disintermediation of traditional banks, presents both challenges and opportunities. This thesis explores how a physical and digital space can bridge these changes while addressing critical issues in accessibility, social equity, and economic adaptation. The proposed solution is the creation of a gallery and learning center—an innovative venue that merges sustainability, financial education, and digital transformation.
The center aims to address several key issues, such as ESG and heritage preservation: Banks face the pressure of upgrading old buildings to meet green certifications, which may compromise their heritage. The center will provide a model for combining the sustainable transformation of historic spaces with modern financial services. Secondly, social equality: many low-income individuals and small business owners lack access to essential financial tools and knowledge about digital trading. The center will act as a community hub, offering financial literacy programs, workshops on digital currency, and tools for investment education. Thirty, from the economic adaptation: small businesses often struggle to adapt to digital currencies. The center will offer resources to help these businesses transition to new financial technologies, fostering growth in a digital economy. Lastly, future-proofing urban spaces: as digital finance disrupts traditional banking, the center will explore how financial districts can evolve, integrating both traditional institutions and emerging technologies.
In this thesis, the gallery and learning center will be positioned as a beacon for an adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable financial ecosystem—where business, technology, and community needs converge for the future.
