Collaborative Spaces for Digital Nomads in KLCBD
The rise of remote work has led to a growing community of digital nomads—professionals who travel while working remotely. Kuala Lumpur City Business District (KLCBD) is an attractive destination due to its connectivity, affordability, and business-friendly environment. However, despite its urban vibrancy, the city lacks purpose-built collaborative spaces that integrate work, travel, and community to support this mobile workforce effectively.
This thesis proposes the design of a Commercial Hub in Persiaran Raja Chulan, addressing the unique needs of digital nomads through a well-integrated space that enhances productivity, well-being, and social interaction. The proposed design will explore how sustainable design principles can improve the functionality and attractiveness of such spaces while promoting environmental responsibility. Key design elements will include flexible workspaces, networking lounges and green plaza, fostering a dynamic and inclusive work-travel environment.
