In 2020 & 2021 formal examinations were cancelled due to COVID 19. In these years, thanks to the hard work of all involved, students went on to achieve above national average in KS4 and KS5 courses.
HELPING STUDENTS ACHIEVE SUCCESS
The examination results in 2019 reflected the hard work and ability of students and staff alike. We acknowledged the support that parents/carers gave the academy which allowed us to be one of the most improved schools in the local area.
The Academy retained its place as one of the highest performing schools in the region for the fifth year running with average attainment across eight key subjects being above the national average.
English saw considerable growth over recent years and was above the national average in many areas with, 77% of all students achieving 4-9 (A*-C) in this subject and students making progress in line with the best schools in the country.
The outcomes in Maths continued to impress with the number of students gaining good passes 4-9 (A*-C) in this subject rising dramatically over the past five years, to 76% achieving this benchmark.
Strong performance in Maths and English culminated in 69% of students achieving Grades 4 to 9 in both subjects which was significantly above the national average.
The Academy achieved well in a range of academic subjects including Biology and Physics where 100% of students achieved Grades 4 to 9 and Chemistry where an impressive 59% achieved higher Grades 7-9.
Students excelled in other areas across our broad and balanced curriculum with 100% of students achieving a good pass in subjects such as IT, Music, Dance, Engineering and Sport.
