Principal's Message

CONSERVING OUR CULTURAL CAULDRON

“There should be development of art and culture, literature and education, science and technology. We have to see how to harness the many resources of India for achieving common good and for inclusive growth.” -Pratibha Patil

Culture and Education are two facets of the same coin. The former is a touchstone of the way of life, while the latter steers us towards the righteous way of life. Art is but a reflection of any society’s culture. For a nation to progress, it is vital that both these wheels move together in alignment with each other. Integration of culture in Education will ensure that students never reach a cul-de-sac and have a plenitude of learning opportunities. Pichwai art, Phulkari patterns, Daastangoi story-telling art form, the significance of gestures and mukhabhinaya in Indian classical dance, the sheer impact of monochromatic photography in the expression of emotions, the concept of symmetry, fractals and tessellations in Indian architecture, puppetry as a vehicle of instruction, the intricate relationship between our culinary philosophy, arts and craftsmanship, and the unmissable use of art and craft in almost every aspect of life – is what we wish our young learners to perceive and gain from.

When the world is embracing technology aggressively, it becomes a desideratum that we make every effort possible towards educating the future of the land about their past. Our endeavour is to bring together the best of both worlds through PULSE 2021. For the first time ever, this mega-event will be conducted exclusively via a scrupulously designed microsite and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our land at the same time. This will prove to be a two-way street, as it would augment their awareness about indigenous arts and crafts and heighten their cognitive skills. Our endeavour is to stretch the creative wings of our students by connecting them to their roots. We hope you will join hands with us and contribute in yielding profound changes.

Looking forward to a raring participation from the students of your school in all the thoughtfully crafted activities of PULSE 2021.
