Building upon the HealthGuard initiative, the Gandhinagar Queer Pride Foundation (GQPF) is dedicated to promoting holistic well-being within the LGBTQ+ community. Through monthly free HIV-STI testing camps, the organization actively contributes to preventative healthcare. In alignment with its commitment to inclusivity and care, the initiative extends beyond testing to provide crucial support for individuals who receive a positive diagnosis.
In collaboration with the Family Planning Association of India, GQPF has established a strategic partnership to enhance the scope and effectiveness of the initiative. This partnership not only strengthens the infrastructure of the testing camps but also facilitates seamless access to comprehensive healthcare services.
By combining testing, counseling, and treatment initiation, the HealthGuard initiative strives to create a comprehensive and compassionate support system for those navigating the challenges of a positive diagnosis within the LGBTQ+ community.
Oasis of Pride is GQPF’s monthly community meet-up. The core objective is to occupy public spaces, providing a safe environment for members of the queer community to socialise and be themselves.
On average, 70-80 people from different walks of life gather every month, forming connections. This event also serves as an opportunity for many to find their potential partners. By creating an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding, Oasis of Pride plays a crucial role in combating social isolation and providing a sense of belonging.
In 2023, GQPF was able to reach out to more than 5000 individuals through various meet-ups and projects.
These meet-ups are organised on the last Sunday of every month.
Under the Inclusive Gujarat project, the Gandhinagar Queer Pride Foundation (GQPF) is actively engaged in organizing impactful Gender Sensitization sessions with various educational institutions, corporations, and organizations. These sessions are designed to foster awareness, understanding, and inclusivity regarding gender-related issues in diverse settings.
In the year 2023, GQPF demonstrated its commitment to promoting inclusivity by conducting a total of 20 Gender Sensitization sessions.
