Humanism NOW! is an online magazine run by International Baccalaureate (IB) students in the Middle Years Program at Granada Preparatory School (GPS) in Northridge, California. The magazine is dedicated to the proposition that humanism and literacy makes the world a better place.

According to the American Humanist Association, humanism is “a rational philosophy informed by science, inspired by art, and motivated by compassion. Affirming the dignity of each human being, [humanism] supports the maximization of individual liberty and opportunity consonant with social and planetary responsibility. It advocates the extension of participatory democracy and the expansion of the open society, standing for human rights and social justice.” Furthermore, humanism is closely aligned with the IB’s philosophy of creating a better world through education, as well as GPS’s mission to teach students “to think creatively, act responsibly, and build community.”

Humanism NOW! publishes topics that explore the intersection at which philosophy, science, art, and literature meet.
