High Ability Learner (HAL) Philosophy

The High Ability Learner Program is committed to a curriculum which recognizes individual strengths and encourages the creative thought process by offering differentiated services to students who demonstrate high abilities in academic areas.

HAL Program Goals

1. To provide high level cognitive thinking skills through questioning techniques which enhance problem solving and decision making skills.

2. To assist gifted students in building positive self-images reflective of successful individuals.

3. To support parents and teachers with a better understanding of giftedness and to provide staff with additional resources to meet the needs of high ability learners.
