Ms. Larson's Kindergarten class

School is starting soon!

I am looking so forward to seeing everyone at Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 8 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Please bring your school supplies that night and prepare to complete a scavenger hunt to learn more about your Kindergarten classroom!

About Ms. Larson

Formerly Mrs. Weaver, I am a native of Waverly, Nebraska and have taught for Gretna Public Schools in some capacity since 1998.  I've taught second grade, preschool, and was a substitute teacher.  This will be my tenth year teaching Kindergarten.  I did my undergraduate work at Dana College and received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a German minor in 1998.  I received a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction along with an Early Childhood Endorsement from Doane College in 2004.  I am currently an adjunct professor in the graduate program at College of St. Mary.  I teach Children's Literature, The Diagnosis and Remediation of Reading, and Teaching Reading and Language Arts.

I have two daughters, Ella (21) and Nora (19).  Ella will be a graduate student at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois this winter after double majoring and graduating with her Bachelor's in journalism and environmental science.  Nora is attending Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD and majoring in art and education.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, exercising, gardening, and learning new things!
