About Miss Coffey

Hello all!

I graduated from Trevecca University in Nashville, TN with a Master's of Elementary Education in 2020 and this will be my third year teaching at Gretna Elementary, I am beyond excited to start this journey!

I am originally from the Omaha area but have spent the last 10 years in Nashville.  I originally moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University where I received a Bachelors of Business Administration. After graduation, I worked for a Business Management firm where I handled finances for touring musicians. However, I could not shake the feeling of wanting to teach and make a difference in students' lives, so I decided to go back to school.  While working towards my master's I worked at a Pre-School in Nashville, and student taught in 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th-grade classrooms.

I have two brothers, one older and one younger. I have a niece and a nephew that I enjoy babysitting whenever I can. My immediate family is all in Omaha, but my extended family all lives in a small town south of Beatrice, and I love going to visit them on the farm! I have two dogs, Kona (a chocolate lab) and Jack (a mix).  

When I am not at school I love spending time with my family, watching baseball or football, hiking, gardening, and doing projects around the house.

This year we will be delving into subjects like decimals and fractions, argumentative essays, the solar system, American history and so much more! I am so excited for this year, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your child's educational journey!
