Welcome Letter

Hello and Welcome to 2nd Grade!

My name is Mr. Cole Kohout, and I am very happy to inform you that I will be your homeroom teacher for the 2023-2024 school year!

I am so excited to begin the school year.  We learn about so many fun and interesting topics in second grade.

Everything from three-digit addition and subtraction, super fun experiments in science, learning about far off places in our world, to writing about fun moments that have happened in our lives!

In second grade, you will be challenged!  Some things will feel easy to understand, and some things will feel much tougher.  As long as you keep trying, I know you will succeed!

About me:

One thing I love to do as a teacher, is play the guitar while we learn.  Sometimes I play it while you work, sometimes I play it to make our stories more interesting!

I love to play music!

I’m a big fan of Batman and Pokemon!

I like video games and sports (football is my favorite.  GO HUSKERS!)

My favorite subject to teach is math!

My favorite subject to learn is writing!

I absolutely cannot wait to learn more about you throughout the year!  Maybe we enjoy some of the same things!

I look forward to hopefully meeting you at Open House on August 8th from 5:00 – 7:00

And seeing you for the first day of school on August 10th at 7:40 (doors open)/8:10 (bell rings and the day begins)
