6th and 7th Grade Music

All 6th and 7th graders in the Gretna Public School District have the opportunity to participate in one trimester of vocal music class each year.  This class is designed to improve students' music literacy, teach students healthy vocal techniques, enhance students' performance and audience etiquette, and give students an appreciation and love for music of all types.

Students who want a more in-depth experience in the ACMS music program should consider joining the Show Choir, Choir, or Band!

Performances

Parents: the performance date for each trimester is listed below.  Students will only participate in the concert for his/her trimester unless he/she is also participating in the ACMS Choir/ Show Choir (these ensembles perform at all three concerts).  7th Grade will perform at 5:30 PM and will need to be on stage between 5:00-5:20 PM that evening. 6th Grade will perform at 6:30 PM and will need to be on stage between 6:00-6:20 PM that evening.

Performance Attire

Students are expected to look presentable at each concert throughout the year.  This means students should come dressed in nice clothing such as nice shoes, a dress, button-up shirt and slacks (tie optional), or skirt and a nice top.  Make sure that this outfit is appropriate for a formal event.
