Animations in Scratch

Share your animations in THIS STUDIO

One of the simplest ways to create animations in Scratch is to draw a sprite, duplicate it, change it ever so slightly, and do it over and over again.

Then program the sprite to switch to the next sprite as many times as you want.

If this seems complicated, check out these example.  Don't forget to peek inside and look at all the costumes and computer code.

Using the power of computer programming you can animate in and tell stories in Scratch using so much more than costume changes.

Check out these different animations and stories to see some examples of how this is done. Don't forget to peek inside and check out all of the sprites, stages and computer code.

And if you are up for a challenge, check out this blog.

This one is COMPLICATED.  Watch it and look inside. It's okay if you don't understand it.
