Important Notes
Laptop Login
The student laptop login information can be found on a label located on the top cover of the laptop.
Username is first 8 letters of the student's first name.first 8 letters of the last name
Example: jonathan.smith
Password is the initials plus their student ID number
Example: js12345
Student E-mails
Student emails — Students have their own email account. Their account is their username plus
(@student.gpsd.us)
Example: jonathan.smith@student.gpsd.us
Students can set up their email accounts through the Outlook icon
on their desktop.
Walk through the steps after clicking the Outlook icon
o Enter the student email
o Click Outlook.com
o Switch the username from @gps.local to @student.gpsd.us
o Click Remember my credentials
o Click Done
o Once done a screen will pop up for "Sign in to set up Office"
o Click "Sign in"
o Enter the student email
o "Accept" the license agreement
o Click "Close"
o Allow organization to manage my device.
Students will now be able to check their email by clicking the Outlook icon
• Students may be asked to "Sign in" to Office. They should do this by entering their email, accepting the
license agreement, then closing.
WebEx Meetings
• Click the WebEx link the teacher provides in their Schoology class or student email.
• Click Join from your browser.
Websites
• It is at this website where you will find the links for PowerSchool and Schoology. PowerSchool is where
you can check your child's grades. Schoology is the online platform the teachers will be using for their
instruction. Both of these apps can be found at the top of the gpsd.us homepage.
• This is the direct link to PowerSchool.
• This is the direct link to Schoology.
• Student log in information will be made available at a later date. Students will receive an e-mail with
their log-in information.
