Mr. Benjamin Mohr is the Grandville High School Choir Director and is starting his third year in the district. Mr. Mohr has previously taught elementary music, middle and high school choir, and middle school orchestra. Mr. Mohr began a Master's Degree in music at Michigan State this past summer. He graduated from Calvin University in 2018 with degrees in Music and Speech Pathology and received his teaching certification through Grand Valley State University's Graduate Teacher Certification program. In the Mr. Mohr sings and plays violin; he performs regularly with VoxGR, a professional choral ensemble in West MI. Mr. Mohr has spent every summer since 2017 working and teaching at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Muskegon, MI. A west MI native, he is thrilled to be teaching secondary choir in Grandville and be part of an amazing music staff throughout the district.
Mr. Lucas R. Farber teaches music at East Elementary and South Elementary, as well as 6th grade general music and choir at Oakestown Intermediate School. He is going into his first year teaching with Grandville Public Schools and previously taught elementary music and choir at his alma mater, Mona Shores. Mr. Farber completed his Undergraduate studies in Music Education at Grand Valley State University, where he is currently pursuing a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Mr. Farber loves playing percussion, giving lessons throughout the school year as well as directing the Mona Shores Drumline and Panoramic Shores Steel Drum Ensemble. He cannot wait to begin building relationships and making music at GPS!
Mrs. Patricia Pratt is the Grandville Middle School Choir Accompanist. She received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Hope College where she studied piano and organ. Patricia and her husband, Paul, have had the privilege of serving together in ministry for the past forty years. Paul served as Pastor and Patricia as Music Director in Reformed Church congregations located in Michigan and Illinois. Since retiring, the Pratts enjoy spending time with their family and friends as well as finding creative ways to use their skills and gifts to serve the community. Last fall, they travelled to Oman to serve the Protestant Church of Oman. While there, Patricia helped to establish and direct a choir for children and youth. She is delighted to work alongside the exceptional Grandville music staff to encourage students in their music journeys.
Mrs. Erin Wegener is the Grandville High School Choir Accompanist. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University in 2007 and 2009 and studied piano with Dr. Silvia Roederer and Dr. Stephen Zegree. Mrs. Wegener was employed as a lead music therapist with Corewell Health until 2021 when she transitioned to Grandville Public Schools. Her four children also attend school in the GPS district. She enjoys making music daily with Grandville choirs, substituting for local liturgical musicians, and teaching piano lessons.
