Sign up for an audition time on the SignUp Genius Page (available August 31).
Choose a Shakespearean Monologue (or Scene for Two, if you signed up for the same time slot as a friend and want to audition together) from the options provided here. Print it out and make notes on it that will aid you when performing. (Paper copies of the audition material are available from Mr. Tower by special request.)
Be sure to arrive at the doors to the auditorium (on the lobby side) at least 10-15 minutes prior to your assigned audition time.
Enter the auditorium with your audition group when you are invited in to do so. Auditions are CLOSED - only people auditioning at that time and the casting committee will be in attendance.
Introduce yourself briefly and be ready to read or recite your monologue. Do your best to provide an interesting interpretation of the text and a sense of the character you are performing.
Watch this space for the posting of a Call Back list of people the casting committee needs to see one more time before any final decisions are made.
If you're on that Call Back list, attend the Call Back audition prepared to read some scenes from the play with scene partners. You will be given some time to prepare at Call Backs before you're asked to perform.
The Grandville High School theatre technical crew is responsible for building and painting sets, designing or finding props, running lights and sound, and serving as running crew (also known as stage or deck crew) during each production.
If you would like to be part of the theatre tech crew, please download and print the forms below and drop them off in the High School main office. Then look for an email from Brian Sherwood or Bri Little with more information. Also, plan on attending (if you're able) the crew training sessions the week of Sept. 19 - 23. It will be a great way to learn more about the work that our tech crew does.
(Please note: Since these documents are for student use only, you must be logged in on a Grandville Public Schools account to access them.)

The production team would like to thank everyone who auditioned this week. The final cast list will go up Friday night (there are MANY people cast who are not listed below), but in order to make final decisions, we need to see the following people Friday after school:

Aidan Hasty

Please see Mrs. Fischer AFTER 1st hour on Wednesday for your callback materials.
Auditions for the Grandville High School spring musical, The Music Man, will be held Monday, January 31, and Tuesday, February 1. Anyone interested in auditioning should attend a vocal audition time slot AND a dance time slot. In addition, they should complete an audition form to bring with them to their audition. All forms and sign ups are linked below.
Music Practice sessions: Tuesday 1/25 6-7 & Wednesday 1/26 3:30-5 Mrs. Bridges will have copies of the music there, or you may find the scans below.
Vocal auditions will be held in the choir room Jan 31 from 3-4:30 PM pm and Feb.1 5:30-6:30 PM. You will need to attend one of these sessions drop-in sessions.
Those trying out for a chorus (non-speaking) part will be singing in a group. You should learn all appropriate parts on the sheet and be prepared to sing them.
Those trying out for a lead role (large part) will be singing individually. Singing a solo song will NOT increase your chances at making the ensemble. If you only want to be in the ensemble, please sing only the group song. Mrs. Bridges will talk about who should sing which songs at the practice sessions.
Everyone will also need to sign up for a dance audition time on Monday, January 31. If you cannot make a time that is open, please email Mrs. Fischer.
Be sure to check the callback list posted here Tuesday night or outside Room 167 on Wednesday morning. It will include a list of people that the audition committee needs to see a second time. Those people on that list will need to go to the auditorium FRIDAY AFTERNOON at 3:00 PM (failure to do so might prevent you from being cast in the show). Note: call backs simply mean we need to see you again, it does not mean you are or are not cast in the play. There will be many people cast who do not need to be seen again.
A final cast list will be posted online Friday night and outside Room 167 on Monday morning. EVERYONE on that list will be expected to attend the rehearsal Monday, Feb. 7 after school, so clear your schedule and plan now for transportation in the eventuality that you are cast. Again, failure to attend the orientation might result in your removal from the cast. If you have a conflict, let Mrs. Fischer knows your conflict sheet.
