My third observation was the amount of land pollution, the destruction of the Earth's surface and soil. There are many causes of this, but one of the main ones is littering. Whether you are walking through a park, or just driving somewhere, you can also find someone littering. They may throw their trash out of their car, or throw their trash on the ground, even if a trashcan is within sight. Land pollution causes other types of pollution to occur, with air pollution and soil pollution being the main ones. This also affects people's health and wildlife, changes climate patterns, and poisons the groundwater. These are just a few of the effects of land pollution.
This is a drawing I made of litter on the ground, a cause of land pollution.
There aren't a ton of things you can do about this, but the things we can do will make a significant impact. One thing you can do is reduce the amount of litter on the ground. You can refrain from littering, and if you find something on the ground, you can throw it away. Littering can be really harmful for the environment because the elements that make up the trash on the ground. You can reduce the use of non-biodegradable items by reusing materials and using things like cloth instead of plastic. You can even grow organic food, or if you don't have the time, you can buy organic products. This will reduce the amount of chemicals for the plants. These are all small things, but they make a major impact on the environment.
I learned that land pollution can change climate patterns and affects people's health. One question I still have is: Does land pollution cause water pollution?
