Hello to all of my Ochoa friends! My name is Mrs. Felts and I am so excited to be your new school counselor for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year!

The mission of the School Counseling Program at Ellen Ochoa STEM Academy at Ben Milam Elementary is wholeheartedly committed to support and nurture Social Emotional Learning in students, so that scholars increase their ability to integrate thinking, emotions, and behavior in ways that lead to talented lifelong learners and problem solvers who will prosper academically, expressively and artistically.

A comprehensive school counseling program is an intentional design to address and identify needs within the school campus, district, and communities.

My role and philosophy as a counselor is to strive to empower students to manage their emotions, resolve conflict, make healthy choices, and set goals in order to promote and enhance student achievement and success.
