Yailem's Odd Life
I was born on August 20, 2011, in Houston Texas in the St. Joseph Medical Center. My parents weren't born in the United States. They are originally from Michoacan Mexico and came to Texas for a better life. My dad came first at the age of 20 and my mom later came at the age of 19. My parents knew each other back in Mexico but they weren't as close, one day they met in Houston, fell in love, and decided to start a family together. Now they have 4 kids, 2 pet dogs, and a pet rabbit who roams around freely outside of their home.
I have many hobbies and some of them are skateboarding, journaling, DIY crafts, and drawing, but my favorite one of them is doing makeup. Skateboarding is something I do wherever I go outside or to a park. I really enjoy it even if I'm not the best at skateboarding. I love journaling at night because I find it really calming, relaxing, and fun. I like crafting things and sometimes I make gifts for people to give when it's their birthday because that's my way of showing that they matter to me and I appreciate them. If I'm not journaling at night then I'm most likely drawing or sketching things because I usually draw what I'm feeling at that moment or just draw random things that come to my mind. My favorite hobby is doing makeup because it takes time, patience, and skill. There are different makeup styles but my favorite is trad goth because in my opinion I think it's a beautiful look and I love that style.
Throughout my entire life, I've accomplished many things. One of my favorite things that I've accomplished before is getting master's on my ELAR STAAR test in my 7th grade year. Something else that I've accomplished was getting a stripe for the first time in my jiu-jitsu belt. An accomplishment that's not a big thing to many people but is to me was when I did my first ollie on my skateboard. It was really hard for me to land tricks but when I finally did it I was so happy even though whenever I tried more times and didn't land it I never gave up. Another thing that I've achieved was being in GT all throughout elementary school. It was really fun doing different projects every year but my favorite was the project I made in 3rd grade of a giraffe.
There are many goals I have and things that I want to accomplish but my biggest goal right now is passing all my classes with a 90 or more and getting into early college. The reason why these goals are important to me is because I want to make my family proud and I don't want to be barely passing my classes like in my 7th grade year. I also want to be a good example to my younger siblings and be a successful.
