A week before a young girl's birthday, announcements were made there was a virus going around, school would be cancelled for 2 weeks. A girl by the age of 12 named Alexis Villegas heard this news and couldn't help but think, that will be quite the lonely birthday but no worries all will be fine and she will get to be with her friends after the 2 weeks are over. 8 months go by and of course it is far too late to celebrate her birthday with her classmates but at least she was finally in school again. 8th grade... wow. Top dogs of the school, the wise, the eldest, won't it be such fun. Now it wasn't exactly how Alexis anticipated it to be. During face to face school, her assortment of friends weren't exactly all there but at least she had a few girls, Arianna , Abigail, and Idalis. (And Jade after a few months) It was fun being the only ones in class at times just the four of us causing a ruckus (not too much though) and using the time we had to the best extent. But next thing you know we only have 3 weeks left. Now how in THE WORLD did time go by so fast. It felt like 1 month in a span of a year. It doesn't exactly mean it was all joyful and rainbows. Work wasn't exactly the most fun at all. Being on computers everyday sitting apart from all your friends really strikes independence through your chest. It gets really tiring and it's not something you want to be doing every single day. So as a teenager, sometimes work became a second priority and didn't exactly make her parents happy. Yelling from the kitchen calling her name "ALEXIS", she already knows, "dang it, did I forget to hit submit on an assignment?" that answer was yes as her phone was snatched from her hands and gone for the next 2 weeks. It definitely wasn't an encouragement to get back on the computer and do the same thing you do every hour at school at home as well. Motivation was at it's lowest for not only Alexis but many students throughout the world. Besides the school work situation, making friends this year was at its peak. Talking to 6th and 7th graders, giving them advice on schoolwork, mental health, relationship problems, family problems, really makes a bond between Alexis and the younglings. The only problem with that, is that next year what will happen when you're not there for them? That you'll most likely never see or talk to them again. Alexis' biggest fear. It really explains why she won't be very happy for the last day of school, you may even say tears will be shed. It's not like she can tell herself "I'll see them next year" like everyone else. Even though she was extremely lucky and very appreciative about making it into a performing arts school for music, the only things that is on her mind for next year is if she'll ever talk to her friends once she separates. Even though there is still a little more time left, the thought of that everyday really hurts her more than anything but she is glad she got to change her friends and acquaintances lives in the slightest. Overall the year was very eventful indeed, lots of drama and groundings every now and then but she does not regret one single thing. It was truly great experience.
