All About: Rafael

Rafael was born on the 13th of July in 2009. His loving parents took him over to their home, a small trailer where he got to know his two older sisters. Two and a half years later, a new baby brother was presented to him. The first school Rafael attended was Sam Houston Elementary. After finishing pre-k though, his teachers recommended his mother move him to Woodland Acres. Rafael went to WAES all the way up to 2nd grade. He had to move to Mexico for 3rd and 4th grade because of some family complications, but he really enjoyed living there. For 5th grade, Rafael moved back to the US and continued to attend WAES for 5th grade. Today, Rafael attends Woodland Acres Middle School. He lives very far from WAMS, though, so he might transfer to another school district, and he’ll probably not be able to see his friends anymore after middle school.

Rafael has many hobbies and talents. His favorite things to do in his free time are playing basketball and listening to music. Sometimes he would do both of these things at the same time  Another one of his hobbies is studying. He likes to do good in his classes, and he always wants to get good grades.

The most memorable accomplishment that Rafael has achieved was getting first place in the Science Survivor Series challenge. It is a district competition about science, where all the schools compete against each other to get the most points. Rafael and his teammates were very proud of this achievement. Another accomplishment he has got was always being in Advanced classes, and being accepted into GT and Encounters.

In the future, Rafael wants to attend college and study economics. He thinks that this is a good idea because it opens up a lot of opportunities for employment, and most jobs in this field pay really well. Something that has been on Rafael’s mind recently is the idea of being a basketball player. Playing basketball is something that he likes to do in his free time, and playing it at a higher level is something that Rafael really wants to do. Basketball can also earn Rafael money, so if either path he chooses doesn’t work out, he has something else he can do to earn money and support his family. Basketball is a far stretch though, so college might be the best option for him.
