Hello! My name is Luciana Harrison, and I am thrilled to say this is my 26th year of teaching! In 1999, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. In 2013, I graduated from Walden University with a Master of Public Health degree. I have been in Galena Park I.S.D. since 1999 where I have taught, Dyslexia Reading, Health Education, College & Career and now Principles of Health Science. I am married and have three wonderful kids; one who is also a teacher!
Several teaching accomplishments that I am very proud of receiving are the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators Award in 2023, Dazzling Diamond Award in 2022, and the Teacher of the Year Award in 2016 & 2019.
In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, watching sports, working on our family ranch and spending time with my family and friends.
I enjoy going to work and teaching our future leaders, but most of all I love making a difference in my students' life.
