All About Me!

The Sensational Sucely Ortiz

It was late November, a normal family, expecting an adorable baby. The mother, Deyli Medrano, was prepared to see her child. Surprisingly, the baby girl was born a day after, November 28, 2007. While the father, Ramon Ortiz, held his baby girl, he suggested to calling her Teresa. The mother thought of it as a silly name and wanted to call their daughter Genesis. Yet, they decided to name their child after the mother’s middle name, Sucely. She was then taken to her new home, in Houston, Texas. And that’s how Sucely’s life began.

Sucely Ortiz was just entering Kindergarten when she was blessed with her new baby brother. At first, she didn’t mind having a little sibling, as a matter of fact, she loved taking care of him, even when he would get noisy. During that time, she was also discovering the wonders of reading, which is one of her favorite hobbies today. Throughout the years, Sucely also enjoyed solving math equations and writing creative stories, but when she came past history and science, it has always seemed to bore her. Despite not enjoying specific subjects, Sucely has always had high scores in all of her classes.

During her elementary years, Sucely achieved many accomplishments. For example, some of her most memorable achievements are her UIL wins. While being in the 4th grade, Sucely had entered the Dictionary Skills competition. Even though she had plenty of confidence, she was still very shocked about receiving 5th place, in her first year. For the upcoming year, Sucely decided to compete for both Calculator Applications, and, there again, Dictionary Skills. She placed in both competitions, as a 3rd place Dictionary champion, and a 5th place Calculator Whiz. And for her first middle school year as a 6th grader, she received 2nd place for Dictionary Skills! Right now, Sucely is in her third middle school year, 8th grade. She is still in Woodland Acres Middle School and in their band, playing her bass clarinet (An upgrade!). You may consider her one of the “Squidward’s” in her school. She’s become very good at bass clarinet and has gotten used to it. Sucely is also in two other electives. One of them is Spanish II, which is an advanced Spanish class. The second elective is a Digital Design class in which she learns about the elements of designs and what jobs involve digital design. Although there’s currently a pandemic and masks, Sucely still tries her best to do well and succeed in her classes.

Even though Sucely seems to have a tremendous life, she still isn’t quite sure about her future. She would love to be a forensic scientist, a news reporter, an actress, or even a book author. There are so many things she wants to try and do, but can’t seem to choose one. For now, Sucely is enthusiastic about what's still ahead of her, and can’t wait for her life adventure to unravel.
