In Environmental Systems, students conduct laboratory and field investigations, use scientific methods during investigations, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem-solving.
Students study a variety of topics that include: biotic and abiotic factors in habitats, ecosystems and biomes, interrelationships among resources and an environmental system, sources and flow of energy through an environmental system, relationship between carrying capacity and changes in populations and ecosystems, and changes in environments.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Washington. This is my fifth year as a Mustang, and I love being part of the North Shore Senior High family!
I received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Digital Learning and Leading from Lamar University, and a Master of Education (M.Ed) in Educational Administration from Lamar University. I am currently a Doctorate of Education student at Lamar University.
I am so happy that I get to spend every day helping the next generation understand and appreciate the field of science.
