Nathan Aron Wong is a 8th grader at Woodland Acres Middle School. He was born on April 16 2011 at 8:00 a.m. in Houston, Texas. He was born into a family of multiple cultures. On his mom's side of the family, his grandparents are from Italian and Mexican decent and migrated to Texas in the 1960s. On his dad's side, his grandparents are from a combination of Ecuadorian, Chinese, and Mexican decent. That side of the family migrated to Texas in 1980s. Over the generations, the families may come from different parts of the world, but the value of family and traditions continue to live on.
Nathan has always been a curious and creative person. As a toddler, Nathan liked to build train tracks, puzzles, use cardboad to create anything his imagiation would think of. Such as, armor, rocket ship, and cars. This has started a lifetime hobby of LEGO construction and engineering because each different piece made him look close at every angle to build his masterpiece. He hopes that the world would see his work at lego con. this dream is what helps him push forward. He posts his creations and contraptions. on his profile in lego life. Another insterest that also started as a young boy was when Nathan was introduced to Dinosaur Train and Dino Dan educational shows. What his parents thought was just a phase, became a passion for paleontology. Nathan has visited lots of museums across the country to see the paleontology exhibits that have exclusive fossils, for example Sue at the Field museum and Victoria at Houston Museum of Natural Science. Today he has read tons of encyclopediasdias, artifact books, and has had one on one conversations with experts and explorers. He owns 2 artifacts of the ancient world that were gifted from paleontologists. An old fish tooth from the Devonian age and dimetrodon dung from the premian age.
Nathan has achieved numerous accomplishments throughout his young life. Nathan started drawing in preschool and by elementary his friends and him joined their talents to create and sale their comic book series called "Sword Stories". Performing on stage is one dream Nathan made come true by being an actor in a Main Street Theater production. He was part of the behind the scenes by collaborating with other writers to write the story lines and create the props.
The play got a standing ovation and Nathan was so proud of his performance. Another accomplishment that Nathan has achieved was that he was part of the UIL Elementary competition for 2 years and won both years for their combined efforts.
His accomplishments has made him look for new mountains to climb, new goals to set. The first goal he has is be a part of LEGO con so every one can see his work, and become a LEGO designer. The second goal, is to make a new comic series to continue off where the last one ended and brining new adventures to this reader audiences. And finally, the most important goal for Nathan is his career to become a paleontologist. He has done extensive research to prepare him for the journey of traveling the world and discovering new species of ancient animals.
