My name is Angelina Gaskin, and I am so excited to welcome you and your child to first grade! This will be my second year teaching first grade, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue growing as an educator and to be part of your child’s learning journey.
My passion for education began during high school when I participated in a mentorship program at McWhirter Elementary. Since then, I have been committed to working with young learners and helping them grow both academically and personally. After graduating from the University of Houston–Clear Lake with a degree in PreK–3rd Grade Education, I began my teaching career in first grade. My first year in the classroom was an incredible learning experience, and I am excited to bring everything I learned into this new school year.
In our classroom, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every child feels supported, valued, and excited to learn. I believe learning should be fun, and I want every student to feel confident taking risks, asking questions, and trying their best. I also place a strong emphasis on kindness, respect, responsibility, and treating others with compassion.
I believe that strong communication between home and school is an important part of student success. Throughout the year, you can expect regular updates about what we are learning, upcoming events, and how your child is progressing. Please never hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or even just to say hello! I truly value your partnership and want us to work together to make this a successful year for your child.
Thank you for trusting me with such an important part of your child’s education. I am so excited for the year ahead and cannot wait to watch your child learn, grow, and make memories in first grade!
Here’s to an amazing year filled with learning, laughter, friendship, and growth!
