Class Description

I teach Resource Reading/Language Arts, grades 1st-5th, bilingual as well. Depending on what is in each child's individual IEP, students may be taught in a Resource setting or with In-Class Support from the special education paraprofessional.

About me

Hi! Welcome to my class! My name is Mrs. Martinez and I have been teaching for 17 years now. I graduated from the University of Houston in 2006, and have also acquired my Masters degree in Special Education at Lamar University. The first five years of my career were spent teaching 2nd grade, and the remaining years have been in special education, grades K-5, all here at Galena Park Elementary. I have 3 kids, one of which has special needs herself, so I can relate to parents exceptionally well. I'm so excited to have you're child in my class!
