Hello, my name is Mrs. Silva and I'm your 8th grade teacher! I'm excited to begin this new school year with a lot of familiar faces and new ones too!

Here's a little bit about me.

I graduated from the University of Houston in 2019. I have a love for reading and hope to create lifelong readers in all of my students. I believe that reading is the key to success in life and strive to have all my students at a 9th grade reading level by the end of the year.

We will be reading at least once a week for 15 minutes in class. I would absolutely love if parents could get involved with the reading because it will motivate our students to continue reading! Students also enjoy reading more when something is being read to them.
