Spanish for Native Speakers (SNS) (Full Year, 1 High School Credit)
Course Description: Spanish for Native Speakers builds upon knowledge gained in Spanish 1. This course will also reinforce the skills learned in Spanish I: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We will work on perfecting pronunciation, mastery of the basic grammatical structures, and increased communication proficiency. Students will be expected to apply what they have learned in their writing and speaking.
Goals
Communication: To communicate effectively in more than one language in order to function in a variety of situations and for multiple purposes
Cultures: To interact with cultural competence and understanding
Connections: To connect with other disciplines and to acquire information and diverse perspectives in order to use the language to function in academic and career-related situations
Comparisons: To develop insight into the nature of language and culture in order to interact with cultural competence
Communities: To communicate and interact with cultural competence in order to participate in multilingual communities at home and around the world
