Program Description
The One-Way Dual Language program model at Galena Park ISD serves English Language Learners in grades PK-5th. As a unique language and cultural learning environment that promotes additive bilingualism, our model clearly understands that academic competence in two languages takes time to develop. It is for this reason that we strive to find highly qualified individuals who demonstrate commitment and passion towards our students and our program. By providing content and literacy instruction in English and Spanish, our students’ cultural, social and personal education is continuously enriched.
About me
Welcome! I am very excited to be able to start this new school year. And I am especially excited to be your child's new teacher! I have been a teacher at North Shore for over 20 years. I was born in Mexico, but I was raised in Houston. I attended Houston Public School and later attended San Jacinto College, University of Houston/Downtown, and finally graduated from the University of Houston/Clear Lake. I am married and have two kids that also came to North Shore Elementary. I live in the North Shore Community so if you see me around please do not be afraid to say "Hi". Again, I am very excited to be your child's teacher and I can't wait to get started!
