Hi, I'm Mr. La Fountain. I started my path towards teaching serving as a volunteer assistant lifting coach at my former high school in Wisconsin for 6 years. I worked for 3 years as a peer tutor for chemistry and biology at my college during this time as well. These experiences led me to a career in education. I went on to earn my master's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in Science Curriculum and Instruction for Science Education.

This year will mark my tenth year teaching, all of it with Galena Park ISD. I have taught a number of science courses including IPC, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Systems. I hope that every student I teach gains an appreciation for science education and shows growth in the areas of reading, speaking, listening, and writing. I believe that reading, speaking, listening, and writing are the keys to being an effective communicator, a very important skill for anyone's future independent of whatever path they choose in life. I'm looking forward to having another great year of teaching and learning with my students.
