Mila Leon was born October 29, 2012 on a Monday in Houston, Texas. Her mother has always tried spoiling her with whatever she could and so have her aunts and uncles. She’s the first generation on her mother’s side of the family and the second on her fathers’ side. Mila lives in a warm, cozy, little house with her mother and grandmother. She has three pets; one chihuahua named Campanita, or Campana, translating to Tinkerbell in English, who has stayed by her side since she was born, and two cats. One is a multi-colored angora kitty, who Mila recently found out is a female, and her name is Harvey while the other is a dark grey tabby cat, Loki. Forever in heart will be her tortoiseshell cat whom she loved dearly named Precious. Her father walked out of her life at eight, and since then, her mother has worked harder than ever trying to provide for her family. Mila’s mom has always pushed her to do her best in everything she does and tries, always encourages her when it comes to new opportunities, and constantly tells her to work her hardest in academics to achieve anything she wants in the future. Mila is currently in the seventh grade at Woodland Acres Middle, trying her best to keep up with all advanced classes and after-school activities. She's very accident-prone and being so has led up to many injuries. One of her worst was spiraling her ankle, causing a bad fracture. Another was when she was much younger, and she sliced the side of her foot really bad and ended up with ten stitches. Aside all of that, Mila, a self-conscious yet shy thirteen year old girl, is iving her best life, even if she only has her mom and grandma.
Mila dances for a hobby. Currently, she’s in acro, ballet, and pointe. She’s danced in many competitions and performed for thousands of people in many public areas, such as the Pearland Center, Rice University, a shopping center, and Discovery Green. All her life, since she was one, she’s had an unreal passion to dance and entertain. This is her eleventh year (she missed two semesters because of a bad ankle) in DBMC (Danceperation By Mrs. Crystal). Mila also plays the French Horn. This is her third year on the instrument and her second in Wind Ensemble. She's first chair and section leader in her instrument group. She has many different talents. One example, she’s able to twitch/move her ears on command, etc. Her whole life she's been aiming for the best in everything she's done.
A recent accomplishment Mila has achieved was being told she was able to join a pointe, a harder way of dancing in ballet. It took her about ten years to get her dream, and she's very proud of what she's been able to achieve. Another accomplishment she achieved in fourth grade was being able to join encounters and be in the top 3-5% in the district. Mila has been in encounters for, currently, five years. While it's been stressful, she has always managed to finish her work and keep going, no matter what.
Last but not least, her goals are high. She wants to make sure she does good in life and academics, so she can get into one of her top universities. A goal she really wants to achieve is to travel the world with her mother. It would be a dream come true if she does make it happen as they both get older.
