1. Growth Mindset: Describe a time this year when you faced a challenge, and how you grew from the experience. What did you learn about your own resilience?
A time I had to face a challenge was when I was trying to be running back and wasn't confident with the plays. It was difficult, halfway through the season they changed my position. Now I had more pressure and had to actually learn the plays. I cried about messing up the plays and screwing my team up. I knew the plays, but wasn't confident so I kept messing up. Then finally I realized I didn't care about the pressure, and finally scored my first touchdown and remembered all the plays.
2. Academic Achievements: Identify your most significant academic achievement this year. What strategies did you use to accomplish it, and how does it impact your future goals?
The most significant academic achievement I have received is scoring mainly A's throughout this school year. No matter the subject I have mainly scored high on the test. I average high test scores, and rarely score low. The strategy I use is paying attention in class this lets me get the information I need. This impacts me by allowing people to see what I can do.
3. Personal Values: Reflect on your personal values. Did they evolve or change this year? Provide examples of how your actions aligned (or didn't align) with those values.
My personal values have evolved this year. I was a lot more nervous and did stuff that wasn't loud. I believed if I waited I would get my chance. Then it switched to an ideal of just being myself. Now I do stuff that reflects my personality.
4. Community Impact: How did you contribute to your school or local community this year? What did you learn about the importance of giving back?
I played football, basketball, track, and now soccer. I contributed points and a huge amount of effort hustle. I tried my absolute hardest to get better. I learned that I could never give back what my coaches gave me, but I could at least try my hardest. I tried to give back the effort the coaches put into me.
5. Friendship and Relationships: Evaluate your friendships and relationships this year. What qualities do you value most in your connections with others?
The qualities I value the msot in my connection with others is kindness, freedom, and the ability of believing. First, most of my friends are kind, maybe rude to me or other friends, but inside they have a good heart. Next freedom, most of my friends play and think the way they want. I don't want a robot as a friend, but I want a friend who is themselves. Finally the ability to believe, I want a friend that believes in their own thing, and belives in others. These are the qualities most of my friends have.
6. Learning from Failure: Describe a time you experienced failure this year. What did you learn from this experience, and how will it influence your approach to future challenges?
A time I experienced failure this year was when I couldn't stop being in my head. I was failing to believe in myself plenty of times. I learned that if I didn't even believe in myself no one would. I was constantly tearing up, but I realized I have myself and that is plenty. This makes me more confident, and makes future challenges easier.
7. Inspiration and Role Models: Who inspired you this year? What qualities do you admire in this person, and how did they influence your actions?
A person who inspired me this year was Coach Torres. I admire his confidence, and ability to forget everything. He made me calmer, and so much more confident in my abilities. He showed me its completely okay to mess up, and something about that really spoke to me. Now I'm okay with myself messing up and completely understand I'm not going to be perfect.
8. Most Memorable Moment: Describe your most memorable moment from this school year. What made it so significant, and what emotions did you experience?
The most memorable moment this school year was my first touchdown. The things that made it so significant was the fact that no one thought I could do it, and thought I was the worst running back. I felt a sense of calm I've only felt once to this day I don't remember any sounds that happened, nor what really happened. I also felt trust, for one of the first times I really trusted myself and gave myself into the sport.
9. Areas for Improvement: Identify two or three areas where you would like to improve in the coming year. What specific steps will you take to achieve these improvements?
Three areas I would like to improve on are my grades, behavior, and effort. The steps would be becoming more focused and trying harder in school. This would help me to have even higher grades. It would also help with how teachers like me as a student. In conclusion, these things would help me.
10. Looking Ahead: What are your hopes and aspirations for the coming school year? What goals do you want to set, and what steps will you take to achieve them?
My goal for the next school year is to be the best athlete/student of the year. I want to have the highest grades and have the greatest sport performances. I will have to focus way more. I will also have to try my absolute hardest and stay calm. This is the kind of year I want to end my middle school career.
