Students did not need to come into kinder knowing how to read, but letter knowledge and sounds are a major plus.
Students were assessed to determine reading level in August.
Sept.- December
Sept.- December
Students will begin learning how to read with the letter sound knowledge obtained. Segmenting and blending will be happening as well as sight word knowledge.
Next assessment will be done around December, students are expected to be at a level B/C reading.

Students will need to read at an instructional level E by the end of the school year.
This can be done, with help at home. Please read daily as we do at school.
End-of-year assessment will happen in April and students need to be at an E reading level.
