This program is primarily for students who have had numerous behavior interventions and are frequently in behavioral crisis.
Students participating in B.E.S.T receive academic instruction in General Education/Resource/Co-Teach settings and take STAAR and STAAR-A tests.
Through its B.E.S.T program, students learn impulse control, coping strategies, self-regulation, and social reasoning skills.
Staffing is provided to accomplish small class groupings of children per session with a teacher and an instructional aide at each program. Whenever necessary, itinerant support and therapists provide services to children. If recommended by the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee, additional services may include transportation, assistive technology, counseling, occupational, physical, or speech therapy.
