A time this year when i faced a challenge was when I wasn't aware of due dates. Some work had been assigned for social studies and I wasn't aware of when the work was due. I had only found out the due date whenever it was due the next day. Since it was already getting late I had to stay up a bit longer in order to finish the assignment. I was a little rushed but the assignment turned out to be fine. What I learned about my resilience is that I shouldn't put things on the side for too long.
One of my most significant academic achievement is getting 100's on most of my math tests. In class, we make sure to practice our brain dump in order for it to benefit us throughout the test. Since we did lots of brain dumps the information eventually got stuck in my head. This will impact m future goal by helping me get a 100 on the STAAR test. We are still currently reviewing until the day of the test comes. These strategies will hopefully lead to a great outcome.
Most of my personal values have stayed pretty consistent over time. At the start of the year, I wanted to maintain A's in all my classes since I was assuming that this year would be similar to the year prior. AS the school year went on I realized that I could probably do a bit better if I tried harder. Around the second semester, I see that I have a few points above a 90 in all classes which aligns with my value of my grades.
I contributed to my school by being in choir. I am currently in Varsity Choir and continue to stay in it throughout middle school. We have recently done some UIL competitions and have received perfect scores. We plan to work on our music even more in order to get a placement to compete through the state. Our choir gives back to each other by making sure no equipment gets destroyed. This makes me learn that when we give back to each other we can accomplish much more.
The qualities I value most in my connections is their quality of being able to make a conversation quickly. Whether at lunch or dismissal, there is always something to chat about with them. A lot of my friends have this quality which leads to lots of side conversations. The subject of these chats vary from school as well as personal things. This builds a strong connection with all of my friends which makes me value them more.
A time when I experienced failure this year was when I could not finish an assignment in time. In a class I recieved work that I was supposed to work on outside of school. Instead of going home and doing my work,I decided to brush it off and set it aside for later. Once I'm in the class again I realized that I had forgotten the work and had points deducted due to this. This helped me learn that I should keep up with my work. This also will influence me in the future by making me aware of any assignments due.
The person who inspired me this year is my mom. She is always very patient with my family and cares for everyone. She heavily influences me with the qualities she has. Her influence has made me more patient as well as caring for my actions. She is very influential which is another quality I admire.
My most memorable moment this year has been on a field trip. In choir we had a field trip that would take us to Cane's. Not only would my friends and I be there together, we would also be enjoying food. While eating we had lots of conversations making me feel thankful to be here. We all had a great time and had a very significant moment happen during this trip.
Areas that I could improve on would be social studies and time management. Although in social studies my grades aren't terrible, I feel like I could spend more time further understanding what we are learning. Most of the deductions points on my grades are just due to them being turned in late. To improve on both of these, I would first look at my notes more carefully to make sure I know whats happening. I would then set reminders on pieces of paper sto manage my time..
My hopes and aspirations for the next school year will most likely be similar to the ones i set this year. I hope to maintain A's in all my classes again. However, this year instead of doing the assignments without care, I will try to actually understand them fully. To start achieving this goal I would start by taking my time while doing assignments while still finishing them. I would then review notes outside of school to study any questions I may have.
