A little bit about me....
Hello all, I'm Ms. Branon. I teach 7th and 8th grade ESL classes (English for Second Language Learners) and Dyslexia classes for 6th- 8th grade. (Dyslexia is a learning disorder that affects your ability to read, write and spell.) I have been teaching at Galena Park Middle School since 1997. Before I became a teacher, I was a Social Worker for about 12 years. As a Social Worker I worked with homeless adults and children, as well as children and families that were struggling with stressful or abusive situations in their lives. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and have lived in Abilene and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I graduated from McMurry University, and have attended University of St. Thomas, Abilene Christian University and University of Houston for post-graduate studies. I absolutely LOVE being a teacher at GPMS, and am looking forward to a great year with you!
Un poco acerca de mi....
Hola a todos, soy la Sra. Branon. Enseño clases de ESL (inglés para estudiantes de segundo idioma) de 7th y 8th grado y clases de dislexia para 6th, 7th, y 8.th grado. (La dislexia es un trastorno del aprendizaje que afecta su capacidad para leer, escribir y deletrear). He estado enseñando en la escuela secundaria Galena Park desde 1997. Antes de convertirme en maestra, fui trabajadora social durante aproximadamente 12 años. Como Trabajadora Social, trabajé con adultos y niños sin hogar, así como con niños y familias que luchaban con situaciones estresantes o abusivas en sus vidas. Nací y crecí en Houston, Texas y he vivido en Abilene y el área de Dallas-Fort Worth. Me gradué de la Universidad McMurry y asistí a la Universidad de St. Thomas, la Universidad Cristiana de Abilene y la Universidad de Houston para realizar estudios de posgrado. ¡Absolutamente AMO ser maestra en GPMS, y espero tener un gran año con ustedes!
