Choirs

Chorale

This is the Varsity Mixed ensemble for Galena Park HS. Members are expected to perform and audition the All State Choir repertoire, sing a solo for the District Solo & Ensemble Contest, attend afternoon rehearsals and perform in a second Varsity ensemble in the Spring, and represent Galena Park HS in special request performances. This is an auditioned performing group with high demands of time and level of repertoire.

Varsity Treble

The treble voices of Chorale make up the Varsity Treble Choir. Performances are limited to the Spring during the contest season, but there are occasional performances of All-State material or Christmas music in the Fall semester. Rehearsals fall outside of Chorale class time, usually after school on dates and times chosen by these singers.

Varsity Tenor/Bass

The tenor-bass voices of Chorale make up the Varsity Tenor Bass Choir. Performances are limited to the Spring during the contest season, but there are occasional performances of All-State material in the Fall semester. Rehearsals fall outside of Chorale class time, usually after school on dates and times chosen by these singers.

Cantabile

This is the advanced Non-Varsity Women's ensemble. Members are encouraged to participate in all competitions that Chorale members undertake. Members are handpicked for this ensemble due to the high level of repertoire performed.

Cantori

This is the Non-Varsity Men's ensemble. Membership is opened to all male students from Galena Park HS. Opportunities are available for competition and solo work in shows.

Cantus

This is the Sub Non-Varsity Women's ensemble. Membership is opened to all female students from Galena Park HS. Opportunities are available for competition and solo work in shows.
