This year has been easy and hard at the same time but it's one of the best school years that I've actually enjoyed. This school year has been easy because teachers don’t leave us homework anymore but they leave us projects. The year has also been hard due to having new teachers and new classmates that we get to know.
Something I've learned this year was to not do your work or projects last minute because that leads to you failing your classes. Another thing that I learned this year was how to play some of my favorite sports. The sports that I learned how to play were Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer. I'm proud of myself for making the team in all the sports that I tried out for including being the libero for volleyball which was a great opportunity for me since my aunt was also a volleyball player. A project that actually got me to open my eyes was the “SHAME” technology project for ELAR class. This project was about the old times and how “colored” people were treated back then.
Some ways I think that I’ve grown as a person were making hard decisions on my own and being able to tell the difference between a real friend and a fake friend. Many kids my age won't be able to discover or know what the difference between a true friend and a fake friend is, but other kids my age may have already experienced the difference. Since I've experienced the difference between the two I've felt more confident ever since. I've also discovered new interests such as playing an instrument, playing volleyball during my free time, and coloring.
Some goals I have for next year is to stay in all advanced classes, signing up for early college, and trying out different sports. Some advice that I would give my future self is to try and not get too attached to “friends” because you never know if they’re a real friend or a fake friend.
