Response to Intervention (RtI) is a 3-tiered program that helps children fill in learning gaps.

Students are screened periodically to identify students who might be struggling in . An RtI committee then determines the severity of the need and will place the student on a tier. Students can be placed on a tier for reading, math, and/or behavior.

Tier 1- core instruction on grade level

Tier 2- the student receives core instruction in tier 1 and additional instruction in small group with the classroom teacher

Tier 3- the student receives tier 1 instruction by the teacher, tier 2 instruction in small group, and additionally the child is pulled out of class for tier 3 services. Parents will be notified if their child is receiving tier 3 services.
