8th grade has been one of my favorite school years so far. Although it is coming to an end I have made a lot of new and fun memories with all of my friends. I was able to play football, track, and soccer for WAMS. I was also able to play in the teachers vs students dodgeball game even though my team lost. It was still very fun. I also went to the district Stem Challenge competition and my team got second place.
The fact that all eighth graders have to take 4 STAAR tests is crazy because they all seem kind of hard. This is the one thing I don't like about eighth grade. Although they seem hard, I will try my best to get the best grades I can get. This year I was able to make a mask and a research paper about the invasive species Burmese Pythons. I enjoyed researching these animals because I learned a lot about them and how they are destroying the Florida Everglades.
Me and my friends Emanuel, Shepard, Rolondo, and Tim have been friends since kindergarten and have made many memories this school year. This school year we made a tradition where we always go out to eat at Raising Cane's every time we go on break. We also make sure not to forget each other's birthdays so we can celebrate them. We also go to almost every school event as a group.
I’m a little scared of my next school year but I am also looking forward to it. I’m saddened by the thought of me leaving WAMS and joining GPHS. I fear that attending GPHS will be like going back to sixth grade all over again. I'm also scared to go because I'll be with GPHS students and I`m not familiar with the school, which means I will probably get lost. Although I am scared, I will try my best at the new school and try to make new friends. I will also be able to see old friends and make some new memories. Eighth grade has been the best school year I've ever had.
Wonderful Thirteen Years of Life
I am from crimson red walls and wooden shelves that my Dad worked hard to make;
From soccer fields that I have played since I was 4 and movie nights that I have watched every week;
I am from a loving family of five that is always at home for me
and from a father who is the kindest father ever,
and a mother who will give everything she has to take care of our family;
I am from the sandy beaches of Florida's coast where I spent 3 of my summers whose ocean tides give me a feeling as if I am flying;
I am from working out going on walks and listening to rap music on the radio
I am from Miguel and Claudia and from carne asada,pozole,tamales;
I am from those moments when time and everything around stops and lets you think about life.
