Using their independent novels, students chose an interesting character to interview. First, students analyzed the personaity of their character and then they thought up interview questions. Students had to then respond to the questions from the perspective of their character. When done, students worked with a partner to record a podcast episode, and they had to speak like their character.Â
Students chose an animal as the inspiration for their sentences and then practiced writing the different sentence types we have learned this year about those animals with a focus on punctuating their sentences correctly.Â
Students took career tests to see what types of jobs their interests would lead them to. Students then researched those jobs to see what type of schooling they would need and what their days would look like in each career. Students also researched some of the colleges they are currently interested in attending to see if those colleges offered the careers they wanted. Based on their research, students choose their current top career and college they want to pursue in the future.Â
