Commercial Photography
Commercial Photography is an awesome and incredible high school program for students! It is a Career & Technical Education program for students at Galena Park High School. This class enables students to explore photography as a possible career and is designed to help the student acquire practical photographic skills through an interactive and hands-on educational experience.
Robotics
Galena Park High School robotics, known as VEX Team 1429 Team KAOS has been competing since 2004. We have won many awards and have represented the school at the VEX Robotics World Championships for the past 3 years.
We are an after-school program that competes on a local, state and world level.
We start the new year with a basic history of photography and the progression of cameras to they types that we use in the classroom today, the DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex).
The students will also be introduced to Photoshop which they will use all year to create images and logos with.
The class and competition teams will start their design ideas and project notebooks to accomplish this year's game "High Stakes". From these ideas and sketches, the students will begin building and testing sub-systems. These will later be put altogether to form their robot in which they will compete with for the rest of the year.
