NSSH Choir Program

North Shore Senior High School North Shore Senior High School serves a student population of nearly 4,700 students in grades 9-12 making it the seventh largest high school in the State of Texas. The student body is more than 75 percent Hispanic, 20 percent African American and 90 percent economically disadvantaged. North Shore Senior High School’s music programs are second to none, offering performance opportunities in more than 19 auditioned choral and instrumental groups. Also offered are Advanced Placement courses in Music Theory, Studio Art and Art History. More bands and choirs from North Shore Senior High have entered the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contest than any other school in Texas. Multiple groups every year bring home the coveted Sweepstakes rating. Each year, our students participate in the Texas Music Educators Association All-State audition process. Several of our ensembles compete and win regional and state music festivals. The district is proud that students enrolled in our choral and band programs consistently outperform more affluent neighboring districts.
