Course Description:
The content of this course emphasizes Sports History and its effects on humankind. The major emphasis is on the study of significant people, events, and issues in sports through research.
World Geography will focus on the Themes of Geography and how it has affected the World.
Class Policies:
Grading Policy:
Grades will be determined by the following: 50% daily work and 50% tests or projects. A minimum combination of three tests and eight daily work grades will be given per six weeks. All daily assignments, tests, and projects will be clearly posted and announced in the classroom.
Make-Up or Late Work Policy:
Upon an absence it is the responsibility of the student to contact the teacher regarding missing assignments and make-up work. Students will be held accountable for the completion of missing work in a timely manner.
The DEADLINE for submitting make-up work and test retakes is ONE WEEK prior to the end of each six weeks. This date will be clearly posted in the classroom, as well as announced throughout the six-week period. Tests can be retaken. Re-tests must be completed by the end of the 5th week of the Six Weeks period. If a student is to retest, he/she must attend one tutorial session which allows the teacher an opportunity to re-teach the material. The retest must be taken no later than one week after the first test has been graded and returned to the student.
District Penalty for Late Work:
First Week: Minus 10 points
Second Week: Minus 20 points
Third Week or More: Minus 30 points

Standard GPISD classroom rules of courtesy and behavior will be expected. I have the right to teach, you have the right to learn. No one has the right to interfere with that process.

Each student has a set of school Headphones and will use them in lieu of personal headphones.
Restroom policies: The use of the restroom is allowed only after the first 10 minutes of class or before the last 10 minutes.
